Gynaecology is the branch of medicine that focuses on the health and well-being of the female reproductive system. Regular gynaecological care is crucial for women to maintain their overall health.
Typically, it's recommended to have your first gynaecological exam between the ages of 13 and 15 or when you become sexually active. Your healthcare provider can guide you on the most appropriate timing for your situation.
A gynaecological exam usually includes a physical examination, discussion of medical history, and, if necessary, various screenings or tests. Your provider will ensure your comfort and answer any questions you may have.
